Now, as to what it is exactly, there is not definitive answer. It's a matter of testing the person and determining they don't fit another category, like MR, DD or Autism. ( MR- mental retardation, DD- developmentally delayed)

I would think this disorder is related to learning disabilities. PPDNOS is a personality disorder. Pervasive Personality Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. My child is autistic ( high functioning) but the pediatrician believes it's PPDNOS. Is he wrong? I don't know. We apply the behavior sciences of autism and they work for the most part, but is the child truly autistic? Who knows?

If you are dealing with a child with PDDNOS, there might be more help available if the diagnosis were autism. I have heard there is more help available for that than the unspecified diagnoses. I hope this helps.
