Call the town's Chamber of Commerce or call information and get the number for the town's Superintendent's office. They both should be able to provide names of schools and a contact person's name. Ask for any literature they have as well. If/when you call the schools ask if there are any parent's of children that are enrolled there that you could call to talk about the school from a "parent's view."
You'd be surprised how common this type of request is to both of these offices!
