PDD is the umbrella that things like Autism, Aspergers and such fall under.
Is it ever cured? Some say yes, some say no. It can be helped significantly by diet (quit using any wheat or dairy) and sometimes, depending on the age of the child it is a good idea to get them tested for mercury and heavy metal poisoning. If they have it, they can go through a process called chelation which will get the heavy metals out of their system as much as they can (the longer it has been in their system, the less that can be removed from the body)
You may want to read the book "Unraveling The Mystery Of Autism and PDD" by Karyn Seroussi and visit www.gfcfdiet.com Another good book for dietary intervention is "Special Diets For Special Kids" by Lisa Lewis Ph. D.
Also visit Kirkman Labs for help in finding good supplements for your child. www.kirkmanlabs.com
We have done all of these interventions for our son (now 12) and have been very happy with the results.
