Is there any way to find out if I got vaccinated, which caused me to have autism PDD or PDD.NOS ?

Looking back at my childhood years, I remember getting a lot of shots from a pediatrician. I was told that I got many shots when I was an infant.

My parents said I didn't become very stupid or retarded until I started kindergarten. Now I'm beginning to think my autism PDD or PDD.NOS is linked to the vaccinations I got as a child.

How can I find out for sure? How can I get my hands on my medical records without my parents finding out? I don't even know where my medical records are.Is there any way to find out if I got vaccinated, which caused me to have autism PDD or PDD.NOS ?
First of there is no proven link between vaccinations and any thing on the autism spectrum disorder - at this point it is just speculation. All kids get lots of vaccinations (unless their parents don't believe in them.) There really isn't a reason to find out the source of what your condition is - it isn't going to change it. Learn to live your life the best way you know how and stop looking for something to blame your struggles on.

First go to the local health department where you were born and get your vaccination records. Then do the research to find out whether or not you received one of the vaccines in question that is believed to be the culprit in causing these diseases.
Your ability to type up this question so accurately phrased suggests you aren't retarded at all. You appear to be quite intelligent when compared with most of the folk here on Yahoo Answers.

Stop thinking of yourself as retarded, and if your parents are calling you that, tell them to get off your case.

more than likely you didnt get it from your vaccinations...and if you did ther would be no way of telling...i mean you get the shots your autism must not be too bad...and to be honest with you i think doctors are too quick to put labels on people they told your parents that you had pdd and autism and they just accepted it...you are whet you think ( i mean unless its its a really serious case) and from you asking these questions i dont think ur autism or pdd is all that bad...

you just need to focus and dont let doctors or your parents put you in a box...if you accept what they told you then you are what those people told you...if you dont want to be like that then do somehting to change it...start talking to people get into groups be social...if you have a hard time learning then get a tutor...study a littel longer train ur mind to study and to think and rememebr stuff...do just give in!! if someone told you that you were a loser would you just asccept dat sh**? i dont think you wold so why would you accept this...

im not a doctor but i dont think you have either one of those pdd or autism...get a second opinion but like i said better yet help yourself! just dont sit idle by and say "well ok these doctors said i have this and they say it could be because i had vaccinations" PULEASE! make a change and you'll be fine think OUTSIDE THE BOX!!
A regression can be linked to so many things, vaccines, a virus, or a traumatic brain injury.

I also have been dx with a likely PDD in 1975, in 1979 autistic disorder, and dyslexia, 1988 asperger's syndrome, 1990 autistic disorder, 1992 asperger's syndrome, 1997 asperger's syndrome, 2002 asperger's syndrome

Mine isn't linked to anything, i was born this way. I didn't have a speech delay but used unusual words, had receptive language delays, pointed later after 2, called my parents by their first name, darted, lots of sensory issues, meltdowns, had difficulty using pronouns, didn't use the word mine, had fine motor delays (moderate dysgraphia), limited facial expressions, difficulty with peers, always seemed immature, very clumsy, poor eyecontact, not able to get jokes, anxiety, very limited dramatic play that was repetitive

I have 2 sons dx PDD.NOS. My oldest was developing typically till the MMR shot, then he regressed. Experts believe he was either vaccine injured or a virus caused it.

My other son was born with it, he was dx PDD.NOS at 9 months old. He is not vaccinated
if your 18--you can ask your doctor for your records--at most you will have to pay $1/page--they are not supposed to tell your parents if you are an adult-but they might.

but, there is no way to tell what triggered the autism--you might have been born with it and nobody noticed until you were in kindergarten.

the health department in my state does not keep individual vaccine records.
I am sorry but your parent became dyfunctional when you started kindergarten.

I don't know why they have to treat you like a vegetable but you ARE NOT.

You grew up in dyfunctional family that is doing nothing but teaching wrong personality.
You might have a severe learning disability, but retarded, you are not. If you wrote this yourself or used a voice program in your computer yourself, you are really intelligent. If someone says you are retarded, try to figure out why they want you to believe that, because you know better. They might want you to get disability payments and the money would help the family income.

Don't worry about it, but you can call the doctor's office and ask the receptionist if there was any way you can get doctor's records yourself? You are not autistic, either. You might have Asperger's syndrome, which is a part of autism, but people who have it can work, marry, have kids and go on . Just keep living, reading everything you can, surf the web, make friends, develop your spiritual life and you will surprise everyone what you can do. But you know this already.
I agree with a bunch of the things said on here. You were able to intelligently communicate your question and you sound quite smart.

I have a muscle disorder that I don't know how I got either. Nobody in my family has it and I couldn't figure out where it might have come from.

However, once I decided that it really didn't matter where or how I got it, but what I did with my life despite the disorder, my life changed completely.

Think of it like this, imagine you were stuck on a deserted island with only a few different resources to use to make your life great. You would still be able to make your life great despite not having everything you need. You would use the tools you had to do what you needed. And that's what you can do despite your disorder.

Go out and think about your future, you can do it!
Call the health department. I think the same thing happened to me.
If you are over 18 you should be able to access it without parental consent. If you are under 18 you should speak with your parents and Dr.. Choose to focus on your abilities rather than disability. Diagnosises can give you limits, but also open up avenues for remediation and treatment, counseling, all kinds of resources, and access to like minded overcomers. God Bless! Eph. 3:20
