How many people does PDD-NOS affect?

No clue at all. I think the number is even higher than any that might be reported. My son is so mild that he was not diagnosed until he was 11 years old. I know the mother of another child who has PDD-NOS and we have talked about how no one *knows* that our children have disabilities, becasue they generally do not show.
