Can anyone give me a little input about pdd nos? I'm a bit confused?

We had our daughter diagnosed with PDD NOS this past February. She is now 3.5. She has speech and language delay and didn't have great eye contact and the doctors didn't like the way she played. We had her evaluated and was that she was not autistic but had some not all of the social signs of PDD NOS. At the time she was at home with me and our new baby. She is now in an integrated preschool and has done amazingly well. We were told by her teacher that she was age appropriate. She is advanced in math and literacy and has a strong vocabulary. She does have a speech delay but you wouldn't really know unless I told you. She is super outgoing and will play with just about anyone. I'm not really understanding her diagnoses. Any thoughts? Can anyone give me a little input about pdd nos? I'm a bit confused?
Obviously, your child was misdiagnosed. These days every kid who is a little slow to develop or talk or who is a little different or quirky is being diagnosed with PDD/NOS or another ASD. It has gotten to the point where one "study" claimed that 1 in 20 boys has an ASD!! This is crazy!! I don't know why it is no longer ok for a child to be an individual. Autism is a serious disability that shouldn't be taken lightly. Whenever I hear someone say they or their child has "mild" ASD I want to slap them. As the parent of a child diagnosed before this "epidemic" I can tell you there is nothing "mild" about ASD!!!!Can anyone give me a little input about pdd nos? I'm a bit confused?
With all due respect, it is not obvious that this child was misdiagnosed. ASD (autism spectrum disorder) is a spectrum as the name indicates. There are mild cases, severe cases and everything in between. Please get a second opinion before deciding not to seek services based on one Yahoo answer.
