I was recently diagnosed w/ PDD-NOS (Pervasive Development Disorder-- Not Otherwise Specified), and I would just like to hear some actual scenarios of high-performing autism.
I'm somewhat chored from a long day of work (by that I mean schoolwork and all), and it may take me some time to get back at this.Real life scenarios of Asperger Syndrome and PDD-NOS?
PDD-NOS - first off anything that ends in NOS is not a diagnosis. It means Not otherwise Specified. So you have some features of some things that sort of look like Autism, Aspergers, anxiety, depression, ADHD etc but not enough for your physician to say its:.....
So what is your question? Are you doomed for life - hardly. Do you learn differently - likely. Do you act a little 'unique' - probably. Will any of that hold you back from achieving goals. You are the only person who can set limits. It is a challenge but not a reason to stop trying.
MD's should try harder to get a diagnosis right BUT when they say PDD it is a good bet that they think there may be anxiety depression or other issues - I heard someone call it Physician Didn't Decide.Real life scenarios of Asperger Syndrome and PDD-NOS?
it just means you may have some ahrder times talking chilling out and getting things the first time. nothing to fret about unless it really get in the way of your life. i have moderatly severe autism i cannnot talk but i can type. no one with autism is the same. that to me means you can do what ever you set your mind to.Real life scenarios of Asperger Syndrome and PDD-NOS?
Many doctors use PDD-Not Otherwise Specified instead of Aspergers Syndome.
They do this because it is easier to get disability with the first diagnosis then Aspergers. This is what two doctors told me when diagnosing my son who has Aspergers.
i no about asperger. i thought i had it to. no answers except. its a theory
