I don't know the answer, but here's a hug.
(((Tears)))
It is normal for everyone to experience depression at one time or another.
I would imagine that Aspergers could be very difficult to live with and it would not surprise me if many that suffer with it develop depression at some point in their lives.
Then like any depression sufferer they need to seek help to treat the depression. Is It Normal For Someone With Asperger's, or PDD-NOS, to Attempt or Think About Suicide?
Well I'm not really sure, but my sister has Asperger's Syndrome but is also Bipolar and when we didn't know she had either she was young and felt that way. Now she is on medication and sometimes therapy for her mood swings and to level out her emotions though she is still up and down a lot but not too severe.
Maybe it's something like that because I don't really think that is part of Asperger's but I could be wrong. That person should see a doctor about it to find out.
I just want to tell you that I am saying a prayer for you, because I understand some of your anxiety. My hubby has AS %26amp; so does my 5 yo son. I am so sorry for your pain.
Here is some good stuff about AS %26amp; suicide/anxiety, below.
-Proverbs 17:17
People with autism or Asperger syndrome are particularly vulnerable to mental health problems such as anxiety and depression, especially in late adolescence and early adult life (Tantam %26amp; Prestwood, 1999).
Depression in people with Asperger syndrome may be related to a growing awareness of their disability or a sense of being different from their peer group and/or an inability to form relationships or take part in social activities successfully.
People with Asperger syndrome are particularly prone to anxiety disorders as a consequence of the social demands made upon them. As Attwood (1998) explains, any social contact can generate anxiety as to how to start, maintain and end the activity and conversation. Changes to daily routine can exacerbate the anxiety, as can certain sensory experiences.
Some Suggestions to relieve your anxiety:
*listen to calming music.
*have access to a quiet room
*massage (this should be administered carefully to avoid sensory defensiveness), aromatherapy, deep breathing and *using positive thoughts. (We have had a suggestion in our Awake! to write down 3 things each evening about your day that was positive. Do this for 30 days, so it becomes a habit)
*use of photographs, postcards or pictures of a pleasant or familiar scene.
*undertake a physical activity (Attwood, 1998). Activities may include using the swing or trampoline, going for a long walk perhaps with the dog, or doing physical chores around the home.
Drug treatment may be effective for anxiety. Individuals may respond to buspirone, propranilol or clonazepam (Santosh and Baird, 1999) although Carpenter (2001) finds St. Johns Wort, benzodiazepines and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) antidepressants to be more effective. As with all drug treatments it may take time to find the correct drug and dosage for any particular person. Such treatment must only be conducted through a qualified medical practitioner.

Keep the marvelous hope of God's new world close in mind
OBSESS over it if you need to keep your mind busy!
AGAPE'Is It Normal For Someone With Asperger's, or PDD-NOS, to Attempt or Think About Suicide?
Normal? No. But it IS common for people who are feeling stressed out to wonder about it. I know I did! Severe, prolonged, depression for several years (my teens) %26amp; into adulthood (along with other health problems). Doctor's misdiagnosis %26amp; resultant mis/nontreatment for what really 'ailed' me... If I hadn't been told over %26amp; over in church that God *hates* suicide, I may very well have tried! ):
However (: ... ... ...
I would like to introduce you to a 'new' treatment, which you can learn to do for yourself. There are excellent step-by-step free video instructions (%26amp; an explanation) that I'll give the URL for. However, in whole, they are considered SPAM, so I'll have to leave off the first part %26gt; http:// %26lt; %26amp; you will have to copy it into your URL box, minus the %26lt; arrows %26gt; :
A Video Introduction to EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)(18 min)
%26lt; youtube.com/magnustapping %26gt;
Please notice that that Web-page lists links to several similar videos, %26amp; I suggest that you also view the following ones (scroll down --%26amp; click to show more-- video step-by-step instructions to EFT help for various problems) :
How Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Works (a 4 min. video)
Overcoming Depression with Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) (a 19 min)
Self-Acceptance with Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) (a 40 min. video)
One does *not* have to believe that this method will work, for it to do so. One must simply apply it properly--and 'magnus' does an *excellent* job of demonstrating how to do so! (: Applying it properly includes *focussing* on what you are saying during the 'procedure'. So you might want to close windows %26amp; shut off radio/tv, etc -- anything that might distract you.
EFT is a very simple technique. Even young children are learning how to use it, with great results! So I know that *you* can! (;
I have thus *assumed* that you *can* view videos on your set-up... Can you? If not, a good place to start, is here:

It is normal for anyone with a mental health problem of any kind and even those without to feel like that. Well, normal in these critical last days!
I suffer from life-long clinical depression/anxiety disorder/OCD plus chronic fatigue syndrome/fybromyalgia. Basically health-wise I'm a mess! And I have definitely had to deal with suicidal thoughts and feelings many, many times. I am on several medications including anti-depressant to deal with my chemically unbalanced brain. The meds do help keep some of the worst feelings under control. And it is worth it to talk to your doctor about what may be right for you. Don't be afraid to get the help you need medically. You can be helped!
Of course we know going to Jehovah in prayer and pouring out all our anxieties and feelings on Him is SO vital! I find He always will bring us some way to bear it and get through the bad times. Even if you can't think what to say HE knows how you feel. So even if you just pray "Jehovah help!!!" he understands and he does help in the way you need.
Also have you talked to a friendly, sympathetic elder about your health problems and feelings? They aren't psychiatrists but they do care and they do get training in how to advise depressed ones lovingly. I got a lot of help from good kind elders many times in my life. Absolutely call one up right away if you haven't already. You will get help to hang on and you WILL feel better!
We care about you here too! Our prayers are with you.
