Looking for a legal firm who is willing to file a class action suit against SSI for children!?

I live in FL %26amp; have a 12 y.o. w/ high functioning autism %26amp; an 8 y.o. with PDD-NOS, ODD, and ADHD. Total monthly income for 3 is $1669 (just child support and alimony, nothing else). SSI reviewed us %26amp; counts my son's child support as his own personal income. I consider this discrimination because children who receive child support are looked at differently than those whose single parent earns the income. For Example my friend earns more than $1669 per month and her son receives more SSI because she earns the money. My son receives LESS SSI EVEN though our total household income is less than hers because we receive child support. Why is this allowed? If they did this same thing based on color, race, or religiion it would be considered discrimination! Why is this not discrimination because of marital status? What is the message to us, don't ask for child support?

I don't qualify for food stamps or TANF. Florida does not have welfare.

This is clearly discrimination! The fleeing felons are entitled to SSI benefits and won their class action suit. What about our disabled children being raised by single parents?

Does anyone know of a legal firm who specializes in class action suits against SSI in Florida?

I am also looking for families to join me in this suit.Looking for a legal firm who is willing to file a class action suit against SSI for children!?
I don't think you are going to find a lawyer. One reason is your friend that works has more work expenses than you. She has to pay for gas to get to work. You don't have any expenses that you have to pay in order to get that child support. They give exemptions for earned income, you can read about it here http://www.ssa.gov/ssi/text-income-ussi.鈥?/a>

I'm not sure why you say you are not eligible to food stamps, if you are talking about your income you are eligible to food stamps. The max income for 3 is $1984 gross.Looking for a legal firm who is willing to file a class action suit against SSI for children!?
maybe you should get a job (advocate for her children)
