It could be either. PDD-NOS is the catch-all diagnosis for anyone who doesn't quite fit in another autism spectrum disorder. It can be anywhere from severe to very mild.My Child was just diagnosed with PDD-NOS , is this considered more or less severe than Aspergers syndroms?
That diagnosis is something that is a catch all. I'm assuming your child is 6 or younger with that diagnosis. Kids get labeled with diagnoses as they go through school, so many times doctors/therapists won't diagnose a child with autism unless the child is clearly autistic to avoid that label. As your child gets older, it will be more evident if s/he has autism, and if so, what type. Make sure your child has speech therapy. It's very important for children with any diagnosis like that to get speech therapy to help communication and behavioral issues associated! My Child was just diagnosed with PDD-NOS , is this considered more or less severe than Aspergers syndroms?
I have a 10 yr old and 4 yr old diagnosed PDD.NOS.

It depends how you view it, as far as being functional, its less severe than asperger's.

In a nutshell, one diagnosed PDD.NOS will have better social skills, more friends, less anxiety and better conversational skills than the typical asperger if there is such a thing as a typical asperger.

The asperger will do better academically than a PDD.NOS person. The PDD.NOS person can have global delays or present more like one with a learning disability.

Both diagnosis are capable of working independently as an adult, marrying and having meaningful relationships with others.

Let me explain the TD's I was being targeted by a stalker/bully who is now blocked.
Neither. It's got a somewhat different set of symptoms than Asperger's Syndrome, but it can be more problematic or less problematic. Everyone's different.
