mine is trying to walk and he's turning 1 this weekend. He's already been evaluated though and he blew all the one-year milestones off the chart, so I'm probably not the mom to be comparing kids with. I'd get him evaluated ASAP though. If he needs intervention, now's the time to start!
I know how you feel. I had twins prematurely and because of that, they have been behind in everything.. still are even at 4.5 yrs old. I've fought their Drs since birth saying something more severe was wrong and just recently they got diagnosed with hypontonia which is low muscle tone.. this explains alot to me.. Anyways, I now have an 11 month old and I monitor everything with him constantly wondering if he is on schedule or not... I think my 11 month is on target.. When you take your little guy to well child visits is he doing the things that the Drs usually ask? So far, my little one is on time with his milestones according with the Dr. Most kids are crawling or at least learning to by 10 months old.... I think they start to stand by 11 months old with help.. And then between 12-15 months the average boy starts to walk.. Some earlier, and some later... At 11 months, my little guy says MaMa, DaDa, NaNa, BaBa, and Uh Oh %26lt;-- just started this one today....
But like I said.. all kids are different.. if you are concerned, then talk with your Dr and get him evaluated.. the sooner you know IF he as a condition, the easier it is for you to accept it.I try to be understanding, but should I be worried about my son?
You should take him to the pediatrician and express your concerns. He may be a bit delayed, but you want to find out as soon as possible. I will pray that everything works out well. Good luck.
It would be good to get an evaluation done. I have a child with speech delay, and a teacher friend of mine reminded me that once you start therapy, they can catch up. But earlier is better!I try to be understanding, but should I be worried about my son?
I'd get your younger son evaluated if you are at all concerned.
Not to be so blunt he does seem rather slow in development I am not sure the what milestones a 14 month old should have gone through but sitting up at 11 months does seem odd.
